The Biden Administration met yesterday with the CEOs of the 4 biggest AI companies —Alphabet, Anthropic, Microsoft, and OpenAI— to discuss responsible innovation.
Senior administration officials were overheard saying, “Mr. President, it’s not just on one laptop this time.” (link)

Some very ungrateful ex-Deepmind leads built something beautiful called “Pi”. It’s a slower version of ChatGPT and you will be shocked at how much slower it is than you think (link).
Google talks 💩 on OpenAI's "moat" (whatever that means)
A researcher at Google leaked an internal document on a public Discord server and the children who hang out there saw it.
Basically, in this document Google is all like,
“Yeah, we don’t have a secret sauce ingredient (which we’ll call a moat) to win against OpenAI… but they don’t either! Google is fine.”
But they’re not fine and Google is in trouble. (link)

How many jobs have the Microwaves taken this week?
IBM said they’re going to can 7800 workers because the execs think AI is “pretty dope”. Some people are speculating all these tech layoffs are just bc of bloat. Some people clearly aren’t paying attention.
The LA-based Writers Guild of America wants AI to “Go back to San Francisco.” No human writers have been canned yet, but this is a developing story.
